The first section of the book details the history of the Halls of Undermountain, of the Undermountaln Halaster, and how the Spellplague affected the region. Revenge of the Giants: In addition, this book provides all the ingredients to run a classic dungeon delve, including enticing treasures, deadly traps, a wide assortment of monsters, and two double-sided full-color poster maps.

Peat rated it liked it Dec 08, I have no plans of running it in the Realms fortunately I have a large cosmopolitan jonce that I’ve been itching to delve under but it’s still useful. Following this section is a listing of the various ways into the Undermountain, with such as the Long Dark Stair and the Grim Passage. The story hooks are not that great, and many encounters are just weird.


This content is really very good and does a great job of making this more of a story uncermountain dynamic adventure and less of undermountin boring dungeon crawl. It leaves a lot of room for DMs to create on the fly, and to assist with that, it even includes random oof tables for both rooms and encounters! The product offered nearly pages of contents, and was far more comprehensive in its coverage of the area than the 4E version.

It comes with a fantastic poster map that has the entire floor map of the 1st level on one side and undermounfain interior of the Yawning Portal Inn on the other as well as another poster map with a couple of decent battle oof locations on either side.

On the flip side is a fully detailed map of the Yawning Portal, the famed tavern with an entrance into the Undermountain. And the rest is said encounter write-ups.

Lists with This Book. After all, 4E characters are so much more powerful that this old dungeon should be a piece of cake, right?
